This policy explains how the developer of Scrapbot Workshop (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in the Android game, package com.scrapbot.workshop.
Privacy and support contact: arcanesystemsinc@gmail.com.
1. Information Stored on Your Device
The game stores the following in its private app storage:
- Workshop progress, inventory, credits, robots, upgrades, repair orders, reputation, decorations, and timestamps used to calculate offline production.
- Settings such as music, sound, animation, haptics, and high-contrast text.
- Save-recovery copies, including a previous save and damaged snapshots retained for recovery.
- Foreground session duration, repair milestones, and any optional Session Notes you enter.
- When applicable, a purchase token, a signed ownership confirmation, and your selected cosmetic appearance.
The game does not automatically send workshop progress, Session Notes, or session timing to us. These records support gameplay, save recovery, your settings, and your own playtest notes. We do not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location, or use an advertising identifier in our game code.
2. Optional Purchases
Where purchases are enabled, Google Play processes payment using your Google account. We do not receive your card number or other payment credentials.
To confirm a purchase, restore a cosmetic, acknowledge a transaction, or check a refund, the app sends the cosmetic product identifier and Google Play purchase token to our verification service over HTTPS. The service checks the transaction with Google Play and returns a signed ownership confirmation containing the app and product identifiers, a hash of the token, ownership status, and a verification timestamp.
The service stores encrypted purchase tokens under hashed filenames to support acknowledgement retries and later verification. The app keeps a local token and signed confirmation so previously verified cosmetics can remain available offline. A failed network request does not itself remove ownership. A later successful check may remove access after a verified refund or revocation.
Our purchase infrastructure necessarily receives connection information, such as the source IP address, to deliver its response. The verification application does not create analytics profiles or intentionally log raw purchase tokens. Hosting and network providers may process connection information to operate and secure their services.
In builds where purchases are unavailable, the game's verification service is not contacted. You can still play the free workshop. Google Play and Android may process information independently under their own terms and privacy practices.
3. Backups and Files You Choose
Android may back up or transfer local game data, settings, and Session Notes according to your device and Google account settings. Cosmetic ownership preferences are excluded from the app's Android cloud-backup and device-transfer rules; purchases are restored through Google Play instead.
If you export a save, Android's document picker lets you choose its location. A selected cloud-storage provider may upload that file under its own privacy policy. Exported game saves do not contain purchase tokens or signed ownership confirmations. The game accesses the file you select to export or restore; it does not request broad access to all your files.
4. When You Contact Us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any files or information you choose to send. We use them to answer your question, investigate a problem, or handle a privacy request. Our email provider processes these communications. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, private keys, or raw purchase tokens.
5. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Information may be processed by Google Play for purchases, by hosting providers for purchase verification, and by our email provider for support. Android backup and user-selected storage providers process backups as described above. We may disclose information when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, or defend legal rights.
For Google's practices, see the Google Privacy Policy. Other providers' policies apply to their own services.
6. Retention and Deletion
- Local data: Game data remains until you remove or replace it. Reset Progress resets the workshop and milestone timing, but does not erase every setting, Session Note, recovery record, or purchase record. To remove all app-local data, use Android Settings to clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.
- Session Notes: You can clear the text in Session Notes and save the empty note, or clear app storage.
- Backups: Clearing app storage or uninstalling does not necessarily delete exported files or existing cloud backups. Delete exported saves through the storage provider you selected, and manage Android backups through your device or Google account settings. A restored backup may restore earlier data.
- Purchase-verification records: Tokens are retained to support ownership checks, acknowledgement retries, restoration, and refund reconciliation. The current verifier has no automatic time-based deletion schedule. To request deletion of records we control, contact us at the email below. Removing local app data does not delete our verification records or Google's transaction records.
- Support correspondence: Messages are retained while needed to handle the inquiry, follow-up, disputes, or applicable legal obligations. There is no automatic fixed expiry for support correspondence. You may request deletion.
Email arcanesystemsinc@gmail.com with the subject “Scrapbot Workshop Privacy Request” to request access, correction, or deletion of information we hold. Describe your request; we may ask for the minimum information needed to verify it and locate any relevant records. We cannot remotely read or erase workshop data held only on your device. Where information must be retained for legal obligations or a dispute, we will explain the applicable limitation. Deletion of verification records may affect purchase support, and a later purchase restore may recreate them. Deletion is separate from requesting a refund.
The game does not create a separate user account. Your Google account and Google Play transaction records are managed by Google. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Security
The app uses its private Android storage for local records. Purchase verification uses HTTPS, encrypted server-side tokens, and signed ownership confirmations. These measures reduce risk, but no device, storage system, or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The game does not ask players to provide their name or age, create an account, or upload gameplay notes. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through support communications. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate. Parents and guardians can manage purchases using Google Play's family and purchase-approval settings.
9. Policy Changes
We may update this policy as features or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before making a material change.
