Privacy Policy
Pocket Salvage stores gameplay progress locally and does not require an account. The game has no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. Optional purchases use Google Play. You control whether to enable local playtest logging or share exported files.
1. About This Policy
This policy explains how Pocket Salvage handles information when you play, use optional purchase features, export files, or contact the developer. For privacy questions or requests, contact the Pocket Salvage developer at arcanesystemsinc@gmail.com.
2. Gameplay Data and Settings
The game stores your progress, credits, upgrades, unlocked content, museum collection, dive checkpoints, results, and preferences on your device. This information is used to save and resume your game, apply settings, and recover a previous valid save if the latest save is damaged. Ordinary gameplay progress is not automatically uploaded to a developer-operated game server.
The app does not request access to your contacts, precise location, microphone, or camera. Internet access supports online purchase functionality, and vibration supports optional touch feedback.
3. Optional Local Playtest Logs
Local Playtest Log is off by default. If you enable it in Settings, the game records selected gameplay events on your device, such as dives, collected cargo, upgrades, and appearance previews. The game does not automatically send this log to an analytics service or the developer.
You may disable logging at any time. Disabling it stops new entries; it does not necessarily erase existing entries. Existing local logs can be removed by clearing the app’s storage. If you choose to export or send a log, the recipient receives the information in that file.
4. Google Play Purchases
Where optional cosmetic purchases are available, Google Play handles checkout and payment processing. The app receives purchase-related information, such as product identifiers, purchase tokens, purchase status, and ownership information, to deliver and restore purchased content. The app does not receive your full payment-card number or Google account password.
When purchase verification is enabled, the app sends the app package name, product identifier, purchase token, and a generated request identifier over HTTPS to the purchase-verification service. The service checks the purchase with Google Play, acknowledges completed purchases, retries pending or interrupted processing, and checks refunds or revoked ownership. It stores purchase status, token hashes, timestamps, and encrypted purchase tokens for those purposes. The server and its hosting provider necessarily process network information, such as the connecting IP address, to deliver the connection.
Purchase information and signed ownership proofs may also be stored on your device so the game can remember owned cosmetics. Purchase features may be unavailable in builds or regions where they have not been enabled. No purchase-verification request is sent to an unconfigured verification service.
Google handles information under its own policies. See the Google Privacy Policy.
5. Backups and Files You Choose to Share
Android may back up or transfer game progress and settings according to your device and account settings. The app’s backup rules exclude its local purchase-preference file and playtest log from Android cloud backup and device transfer.
Export Save and Export Playtest Log let you choose a destination using Android’s file picker. That destination may be a local folder or a cloud-storage provider you select. Import Save reads the file you choose. The game does not obtain unrestricted access to your other documents. Exported files and provider-managed backups are outside the app’s local storage and must be managed separately.
6. Support Messages
If you email us, we receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any attachments you choose to provide. We use that information to respond, investigate reported problems, and handle privacy requests. Please avoid sending passwords, full payment-card details, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
7. Sharing and Use of Information
We do not sell your personal information or use game data for targeted advertising. Information is shared only as needed for the functions described here: with Google Play for purchases, service providers that operate enabled verification infrastructure or email services, and destinations or recipients you choose when exporting files or contacting support. Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or valid legal requests.
8. Retention and Security
Local saves and settings remain until replaced, removed through Android’s app-storage controls, or otherwise deleted by your device. The game maintains a recovery save. Clearing app storage removes local progress, settings, logs, and locally cached purchase information; it does not cancel a Google Play purchase or erase files and backups stored elsewhere.
Where verification is enabled, ownership records are retained while needed to provide and restore purchased content. The verification service’s cleanup process removes retired purchase-token jobs after 30 days and never-verified jobs after 7 days, and removes corresponding non-owned records when eligible. Support correspondence is retained as needed to respond, resolve related issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. Google and any storage or email provider apply their own retention policies.
Purchase-verification traffic uses HTTPS and server-stored purchase tokens are encrypted. Local data relies on Android’s app-storage protections. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Choices and Requests
You can play without creating an account, leave local logging disabled, adjust Android backup settings, choose whether to export files, and remove local information through Android’s app-storage controls. Removing local storage can permanently remove unsaved or unexported progress.
To request access, correction, or deletion of information held by the developer, email arcanesystemsinc@gmail.com. Include enough information to locate the relevant support or purchase record, but do not send passwords or full payment-card details. We may need to verify that a request relates to your information. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law. Google Play account, payment, and refund requests may also need to be handled directly through Google.
10. Children’s Privacy
The game does not require players to provide a name, email address, or date of birth to play, and it does not include chat or public player profiles. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer, contact us so we can review and address the request. Parents and guardians can manage purchase permissions through their Google Play account settings.
11. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when the game or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision. Where required, material changes will be accompanied by additional notice or consent.
