Plan A is a birth-control reminder app. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is stored, and your choices. We designed Plan A to keep your data on your device by default. In plain terms: we are not interested in collecting your personal information, and the app works fully without an account.

1. Information stored on your device

The following information is created and stored locally on your device only (in the app's private storage). It is not transmitted to us or to any third party:

• Your reminder schedule and method (e.g., pill, ring, patch, injection) and the times you choose.
• Your dose history (when you marked a dose taken, skipped, snoozed, late, early, or missed).
• Your settings: humor preferences, enabled joke categories, quiet hours, currency, theme, and similar options.
• Any custom jokes ("deterrents") you write inside the app.
• A randomly generated anonymous identifier (a UUID) used only for the optional Community Jokes feature described below. This is generated by the app — it is not your device's hardware ID, advertising ID, phone number, or any identifier that points to you personally.

This information stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. If you use Android's system backup, this local data may be included in your own Google backup, which is controlled by your device settings, not by us.

2. Community Jokes (optional, off by default)

Plan A includes an optional feature that lets you read jokes submitted by other users and, if you choose, share your own. This feature is turned off by default and only becomes active if you enable it and accept its disclaimer.

When the Community Jokes feature is enabled:

• The app signs in to Google Firebase using Anonymous Authentication. This creates a random Firebase user ID. It does not use or collect your name, email address, or Google account.
• Reading: the app downloads approved community jokes (joke text, category, and humor tier) so they can be shown to you.
• Submitting (only when you tap "Share to Community"): the app uploads the joke text you wrote, its category, its humor tier, the anonymous UUID described in Section 1, and a server timestamp.
• Reporting: if you report a joke, the app increases a report counter on that joke so it can be reviewed and removed if necessary.

We do not upload your dose history, schedule, method, settings, or any health information through this feature. Only the joke content you explicitly choose to share leaves your device.

This feature is provided using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Your use of it is also subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase's privacy and security information.

3. We do not use analytics, ads, or tracking

Plan A does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising. We do not knowingly collect any "sensitive" personal information beyond what you choose to enter locally for the app to function.

4. Permissions and why they are used

• Notifications — to show your reminders.
• Exact alarms — so reminders fire at the precise time you set.
• Run after reboot — to re-schedule your reminders after the phone restarts.
• Ignore battery optimizations (optional) — to help reminders fire reliably on some devices.

Plan A does not request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or files (other than a folder you pick yourself when exporting — see below).

5. Exporting your data

If you use the CSV export feature, the file is written to a location you choose on your own device or storage. The exported file is not sent to us.

6. Children

Plan A is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data retention and deletion

• On-device data: deleted when you uninstall Plan A or clear its data in Android settings.
• Community joke submissions: because submissions are anonymous, we cannot identify them as "yours" automatically. If you want a joke you submitted removed, you can report it in the app, or contact us at the email below with the joke text (and, if you have it, the anonymous device identifier shown in the app) and we will remove matching submissions.

8. Medical disclaimer

Plan A is not a medical device and does not prevent pregnancy. It is a reminder and entertainment app. Cost figures shown in the app are approximate U.S. averages for illustration. Always follow the guidance of your healthcare provider and the instructions for your contraceptive method.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, note it within the app.
