In short: Kiln is an offline notebook. It has no accounts and no analytics, and it does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information. Everything you create stays on your device.

We do not collect personal information. Kiln has no user accounts and no sign-in. All content you create — glaze recipes, firing logs, test tiles, pieces, photos, and notes — is stored locally on your device and is never sent to us or to any third party by the app.
Kiln lets you attach photos to glazes, test tiles, and pieces using the Android photo picker or your camera. These images are stored locally on your device and are used only inside the app. They are not uploaded.
The optional one-time “Pro” unlock is processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the transaction and your payment details; we never see or store your payment information. Your purchase status is stored locally on your device. Google’s handling of purchase data is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
Kiln uses Google’s downloadable fonts service (part of Google Play Services) to load its display typefaces. When fonts are fetched, that request is handled by Google and is subject to Google’s privacy policy. No personal data from your notebook is involved.
Pro lets you export your library to PDF or CSV. Exported files are written only to the location you choose on your device. Those files leave the app only if you choose to share them.
Kiln contains no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising of any kind.
Because your data lives only on your device, you are in control of it. Deleting an item removes it, and uninstalling Kiln removes all of its data. Export your library first if you want to keep a copy.
Kiln is a general-audience tool for potters and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
If we update this policy, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and publish the new version here and in the app.
