Fit Memory Privacy Policy
Remember what fit, before you order.
Effective 10 August 2026
Fit Memory is a private record of how clothes and shoes fit you. It is built to work without an account, without your body measurements, and without sending your fit history anywhere. This policy explains exactly what the app stores, where it stores it, and what control you have.
The short version
- Your fit cards, notes, photos and measurements are stored only on your device.
- We do not run an account system, and Fit Memory works fully offline.
- We never ask for body photos, body measurements, height, weight, or body shape.
- There are no ads, no affiliate links, no sponsored brands, and no sale of your data.
- We do not build a shared brand-sizing database out of what you save.
- You can export everything, or delete everything, at any time.
What Fit Memory stores on your device
Everything you enter is written to a private database inside the app's own storage area, which other apps cannot read. That includes:
- Fit cards: brand, garment type, item or style name, the size printed on the tag, cut or fit label, colour, how it fit, what you did with it, the date, and your notes.
- Fit traits: the specific garment observations you tap, such as a sleeve being short or a waistband being tight.
- Garment measurements: measurements of a garment laid flat, the units you entered, and how you measured. These describe the garment, never you.
- Photos: any tag, item or receipt photos you add. These are encrypted on your device with a key held in the Android Keystore.
- Return cases: retailer, order reference, purchase date, return deadline, status, tracking number and any evidence note you add.
- Preferences: your unit choice, whether tagged sizes are shown, haptics, motion and photo-retention settings.
We hold no copy of any of this.
Tag scanning and text recognition
When you scan a garment tag, the photo is processed on your device using Google's on-device ML Kit text recognition. The image and the recognised text are never uploaded for recognition.
Recognised text is only ever a suggestion. Fit Memory shows you what it thinks it read and saves nothing from a tag until you confirm it. If recognition fails, the photo stays visible beside blank fields so you can type what you can see.
Fit Memory does not attempt to infer your body measurements, body shape, gender, age or identity from any image.
What we never ask for
- Body photos or selfies.
- Your body measurements, height, weight, or clothing size as an attribute of you.
- Access to your full photo library. Imports go through the Android Photo Picker, which hands the app only the single item you chose.
- Your email inbox, order history, or retailer accounts.
- Your contacts, location, or advertising identifier.
Permissions and why
- Camera: requested only when you choose to scan a tag, and used only for that capture. Declining it leaves every manual feature working.
- Notifications: requested only after you create your first return deadline, and used only to remind you about deadlines you saved. Declining it leaves the in-app return centre fully working.
Fit Memory does not declare permission to read your media library, and does not request background location, contacts, or device identifiers.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled in a future release, they will record only how the app is used — for example that a fit card was saved, or that a search returned a result.
Analytics will never include a brand name, a retailer name, a garment type, a size, a note, a photo, recognised tag text, a fit result, or any free-text you typed. Those are the substance of your fit history, and they are not telemetry.
Purchases
Fit Memory Pro is sold through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment; we never see or store your card number, billing address or Google account details.
The app keeps a small local record of whether Pro is active so it can work offline. Your purchase is tied to your Google account, so you can restore it on a new device from the More screen.
If Pro ends, nothing you saved is taken away or locked. Every existing card stays visible, editable and exportable.
Cloud backup and sync
Fit Memory version 1 has no cloud sync. Your fit history is excluded from Android system backup, both for cloud backup and for device-to-device transfer, so it is not copied off your phone by the operating system either.
If encrypted Pro backup ships in a later version, it will be opt-in, it will be described plainly before you turn it on, and this policy will be updated before it is released.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade or share your fit data. There is no public profile, no shared feed, no ratings network, and no aggregate brand-sizing dataset built from what you save.
The only time your data leaves the app is when you deliberately create an export and choose where to send it. At that point it is in your hands.
Your control
- Export: create a CSV, a JSON copy, and a ZIP containing your photos and a manifest, from More then Export your data.
- Delete a single card: open the card and choose Delete. You will be asked what to do with any linked return record.
- Delete a photo but keep the facts: deleting an image never deletes the details you confirmed from it.
- Photo retention: choose to keep photos forever, delete tag photos once you have confirmed the text, or never keep tag photos at all.
- Delete everything: More then Delete everything removes every card, photo, measurement and return from the device permanently.
- Uninstalling the app also removes all of it.
Children
Fit Memory is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Because the app stores nothing on our side and requires no account, we hold no personal information about any user, of any age, to disclose or delete.
Security
Photos are encrypted at rest with AES-GCM using a key generated on your device and held in the Android Keystore, which does not leave the device. The database and photos live in the app's private storage area.
Production logs and crash reports are written so that they exclude fit card content, notes, photo paths, recognised tag text, purchase tokens and email addresses.
No system is perfect. If you find a security problem, please tell us at the address below and we will take it seriously.
A note on what Fit Memory is not
Fit Memory records the outcomes you save. It is not a size predictor, a body scanner, a health or weight app, or a source of universal sizing claims. It will never tell you what size to buy — only what worked for you before.
Return reminders are based on the date you entered. They are not a guarantee of eligibility, and they are not legal or retailer advice. Always check the retailer's current policy before returning something.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what the app stores or shares, we will update the effective date above, publish the new version at the same public address, and ship the updated text inside the app. Material changes to data handling will be described in the release notes.
