Who this policy is from
Dice Diner is published by Arcane Systems Inc. This policy covers the Dice Diner Android application distributed through Google Play, and nothing else.
If anything here is unclear, or you want to ask what data the app holds about you, write to arcanesystemsinc@gmail.com and we will answer.
What we do not do
It is shorter to state the absences plainly than to bury them in qualifications, so:
- There is no account system, sign-in, or user profile on any server.
- There is no advertising, no advertising SDK, and the app never reads the Android Advertising ID.
- There is no analytics service, crash reporting service, or remote logging.
- No data is sold, rented, shared with data brokers, or used for advertising profiles.
- The app requests no Android runtime permissions at all, and no notification permission.
- There is no location access, no contacts access, no camera or microphone access, and no access to your photos or files except a file you explicitly choose yourself.
What the game stores on your device
To let you stop mid-service and come back, the app keeps its own save data in its private application storage. Only Dice Diner and the Android system can read it. It contains:
- Your run in progress: dice, orders, Reputation, Coins, score, the current random number generator position, and a short undo history.
- Your profile: which chefs, journal challenges and cosmetic palettes you have unlocked, your best score per difficulty, and your chosen look.
- Your settings: music, sound effects, haptics, reduced motion, skip animations and tap-only input.
- A record of which one-time rewards have already been granted, so nothing is awarded twice.
- The product identifiers of any cosmetic you own, so paid content keeps working when you are offline.
None of this is personal information, and none of it leaves your device on its own.
The optional local play log
Settings has a switch called "Keep a local play log". It is off by default. When you turn it on, the app records plain gameplay facts on your device only: which tutorial step you reached, whether a service was completed, how many guests left, which tools you used, and which shop offers you bought.
That log is never uploaded anywhere. It contains no personal information and no free text. It exists so that you can export it and send it to us yourself if you want to help with balancing. Turning the switch off stops new entries; deleting the app or using Reset all data removes it.
Purchases
Dice Diner is free to play in full. Two optional cosmetics can be bought, and they change only how the game looks.
Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play using the Google Play Billing Library. We never see, receive or store your name, address, card number or any other payment detail. What the app receives from Google Play is limited to which product you own and whether the purchase completed.
Google's own handling of that transaction is governed by the Google Play Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy, which are not under our control.
The app stores the product identifier of anything you own so that paid content still works with no connection. Restore purchases re-reads your entitlements from Google Play; it does not create an account.
Export and import
You can export your save to a file, and import one back. The app uses the Android system file picker, so it only ever touches the single file you choose, and it has no browsing access to the rest of your storage.
An exported file contains your run and your progress. It deliberately does not contain your purchases: ownership comes from Google Play, so a save file cannot be used to pass paid content to anyone.
Where the exported file goes afterwards is up to you. If you share it, you are sharing whatever it contains.
Android backup
If you have Android's own backup enabled, the operating system may include Dice Diner's save data in your device backup so a new phone can pick up where the old one left off. That transfer is performed by Android and Google, not by us, and it follows your device backup settings. You can turn it off in your Android settings.
Children
Dice Diner is suitable for a general audience. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age, so there is nothing to treat differently for a child. There is no chat, no user-generated content, no social features and no advertising.
The only purchase path is Google Play's own, which respects the parental controls and purchase approvals configured on the device and on the Google account.
Deleting your data
Everything the app holds is on your device, so you are in control of it:
- Settings has Reset all data, which shows you exactly what will be deleted and asks you to confirm. It removes your run, your unlocks and your scores.
- Uninstalling the app removes its private storage entirely.
- Clearing the app's storage in Android's own app settings has the same effect.
Purchases are not deleted by any of these, because they belong to your Google account rather than to the app. Reinstalling and tapping Restore purchases brings them back.
Because we hold nothing about you on a server, there is no data for us to delete on request. If you would like that confirmed in writing, email arcanesystemsinc@gmail.com.
Security
Save data lives in the app's private storage, which Android isolates from other applications. Save files you export carry a checksum so the app can tell you when one has been damaged in transit; that checksum detects damage, and is not a security or anti-tampering measure.
Since no personal data is transmitted, there is no data in transit to intercept.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Dice Diner adds anything that changes what data is handled, this policy is updated before that version is released, the date at the top changes, and the app ships the updated text so you can read it offline. We will not quietly start collecting something and update the policy afterwards.
