Privacy Policy

PackWise ("the app") is developed by Arcane Systems Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data the app handles and how. Contact: arcanesystemsinc@gmail.com.

The short version

We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal information.
No servers and no user accounts — everything you create stays on your device.
No ads, no analytics, no third-party tracking.
The only optional online interaction is buying PackWise Pro, handled entirely by Google Play.

Information we collect

None that leaves your device. PackWise does not require an account, a sign-in, an email address, or any personal details to work. We do not operate any backend service that receives your data.

Data stored on your device

Everything you enter is stored locally in the app's private storage:

Trips — name, dates, travelers, trip type, activities, and the generated packing items (what you've checked off, added, or edited).
Templates — reusable lists, including your "Essentials" profile.
Preferences — theme/appearance, default reminder lead time, units, and your Pro status.

This data never leaves the device through the app. You can erase all of it at any time (see "Deleting your data").

Permissions we use

Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — only to show the optional pre-trip reminders you schedule. You can decline it or turn reminders off; the rest of the app works normally.
Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING) — only to offer the one-time PackWise Pro purchase through Google Play.

PackWise requests no location, no contacts, no camera, no microphone, and no file/storage access.

Purchases (PackWise Pro)

PackWise offers a single one-time "Pro" unlock. Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play — we never see or store your payment details. After a successful purchase, the app records only a simple "Pro unlocked" flag in its local settings. Google's handling of the transaction is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Device backups

If you have Android Backup / Google One backup enabled in your device settings, Android may include PackWise's local data in your device's encrypted backup to your own Google account. This is an Android feature you control in your system settings; it is not something PackWise sends or can access, and it is governed by Google's privacy policy.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

PackWise contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no tracking technologies. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not build profiles about you.

Sharing your data

We do not share or sell your data, because we do not collect it. When you use the in-app "Share" feature, you choose what to send and to whom via your device's standard share sheet — that content goes only where you direct it.

Children's privacy

PackWise is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Because your data stays on your device in the app's private storage, its security is tied to your device's own protections (screen lock, encryption, OS sandboxing). We recommend keeping your device secured and up to date.

Deleting your data

Delete an individual trip or template from within the app.
Clear everything via Android Settings → Apps → PackWise → Storage → Clear storage.
Uninstalling the app removes all of its on-device data.

(If a Google backup exists, manage or delete it through your Google account's backup settings.)

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at the same URL. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
